Mara has not been a fan of having shoes put on in the past, however now she needs them as a correction for the laminitis. So today in advance of having her shoes put on she was sedated, to take the “edge off” for her.
The shoeing process went beautifully and her new shoes with pad inserts look great! Mara then rested and “woke up” in the wash stall while I waited with her and read my book.
We’re grateful for the excellent Vet and farrier care in managing her hoof issues so smoothly. We will soon be heading back down the trails on shod, rather than tender hoofs.
