Solstice

Mara B is home for the Winter Solstice.

We are “away” for the Solstice embracing its promise of coming light. The ritual of the Christmas holiday “away” helps our family make space for the grief of missing Benjamin. The early years after Benjamin’s death when I felt like I could not keep my head above water it was a relief to get away. Now, eight years later maybe it’s our new normal?

Now I know that when we make space for grief, we open our hearts to healing, and I want to share the importance of that. We all miss someone, a grandparent, a parent, a child, a sibling, a spouse, or partner, a friend, or a pet. Today our family is “away” together remembering Benjamin, and honoring nature’s pause in a quiet way.

Mara B and I wish all of our followers a peaceful Christmas/Holiday season.

May we each move towards what lights up our heart. 💛 Helen

  1. You continue to be a very important part of my healing. This post is very special to me. I think of Benjamin often, without knowing him, I still feel his loss. Love to you, my very special friend.
