It was a very cold morning visit with Mara B today. The temperature was seven when I arrived and the horses were still eating breakfast.
Ice chunks were scattered around the paddock water troughs, signs of the morning chore crew clearing the ice cover.
Mara and I spent our time together in the indoor arena to be in the morning light that was shining through. The closed up barn feels dark and cold these winter days.
I groomed and moved and fed Mara B and we stayed very comfortable.
Actually the horses thick coats do feel warm when they are in the sunshine. We both decided we will enjoy the warm days ahead.
