Winter Shag

Today I decided it’s time to trim off the winter shag, called feathering on Mara’s fetlocks. Our ice is turning to mud and slush and the cold temperatures are hopefully behind us, this will be a wonderful springtime rite of passage for us.

Our afternoon together included the regular line up for Mara to have some hay, grooming and moving.

We also observed more geese plus the open water in the back field.

March winds kept us close to home.
