Someone had left a fan out today so Mara B and I turned it on. It’s hot and muggy, we both pretended that it helped cool us and kept the flies off, but truthfully it was only marginal. I cover her in bug spray these days, before we ride off and when I return her to her paddock.
Regardless of the conditions we did saddle up and plodded to Sams. Our path took us past corn, cows and soybean fields. Plus I noticed that Queen Anne’s Lace is beginning to appear along the side of the roads.
One tractor was out turning hay that had been laying in the field. Other wise all was calm, sticky and buggy!
Mara B was a lovely companion and she enjoyed her hay when we returned to the barn. This is real summer horse time.
