When I first arrived at the barn this morning the pasture horses reminded me of horse camp days as a kid! It was sorta hot, sorta smelly, sorta buggy with the curious “camp horses” standing around waiting for riders. A good memory that took me back to my Camp Trowbridge days when I was probably about ten.
Mara B and I started in the round pen and she wanted to eat which had me really working to get her motivated and moving.
I asked Pat if I could start riding in the field where oats have been cut, unfortunately he said there is hay under the oats, so no we can not ride there. Darn.
We did appreciate the freshly mowed path on our ride out back, and only had one big fat turkey greet us when we turned a corner.
Completing our ride with a stroll around the front paddocks we enjoyed visiting with that pleasant pony Peanut!
Mara B and Peanut seem to like greeting each other when we meet up, and we think Peanut is a treasure.
