Cats & Wind

When I’m the first one to arrive at the barn like this morning, the four barn cats immediately greet me and are so excited to see me! Of course I feed them, which makes them happy, plus it’s a fun start to my visit.

Mara was excited to see me too, I think. We saddled up and spent a good portion of our ride time in the outdoor arena. We walked, fast and slow, we trotted a slow jog trot and a faster extended trot. We worked on circles and serpentines, stops and backing up, all while concentrating and staying focused, it was a fun activity for us.

Then the wind was a factor on our stroll “out.”

Mara B was a good horse and we ended our visit with grooming, some hay for Mara B and even a little grass grazing. When I returned Mara B to her paddock, she took a big drink, and then went directly for the salt lick.

We stayed close to the barn but had a strong practice/lesson type ride today, a pleasant change from our regular routine.

I am so glad you have Mara B in your life, Helen, and I love taking a few minutes to enjoy the days with you both! xoxo

Pat said Robie was pretty nasty to Belle so he moved him but Bella has a few bites and you, of course, are looking after her. I hope it is just typical horse stuff! Thank you yet again! Very spotty internet service. Hope to have better service in Dublin than we have had here in the hills of Umbria. Love vely pics on today’s blog post.
    Hugs,
    Jennifer
