Triple Action

Mara B had some great lesson time with Maura again today. So I get to learn from the sidelines and I like observing Mara from the ground.

I also had some solo ride time out on Mara B and saw triplet fawns run across the road following their mom. Pretty cool to get the photo I thought.

The third ‘action’ was engaging with other borders out riding on this glorious summer day.

Peanut never fails to make us smile! Some summer stable action that sort of made me remember horseback riding at summer camp.

Ride on Bill

Hannah provided training and instruction for us today, during our lesson time. Really enjoyable for me, part of the lesson I was riding Bill, and I have not ridden a different horse for a few years! It was good to be able to watch Hannah riding Mara and to change up my mount. I’m thankful for my horse adventures.

Buck Territory

Mara B and I rode the Dairy loop with Jennifer and Bella this afternoon. We saw the tell tale signs of deer “rutting” on trees. Google tells me that Bucks rub their antlers on small flexible trees to rub off the velvet that initially covers them. (Clearly damaging the tree). Other barn friends were also out riding the loop and we met up with them on the way back to the barn! The ride was my Halloween treat.

Mara as Mentor

My buddy Ross, is interested in horses, and today Mara was his guide and mentor. Andri joined us and the two horses offered him an excellent horsemanship session. We interacted with the herd, groomed and grazed the horses and toured the stable grounds. Another very fun horse class. My ride out then, took us past Sams and around Julie’s new spread. Mara also had a mentoring session with the one brave cow who did not dash away as we rode past on our way home.

Ride with Gus and Kathryn

Gus and Mara are paddock pals and best buddies. This morning Kathryn and I took them for a good morning walk about. Kathryn will be enjoying time with Gus through the summer now and we look forward to more outings together.
