Mara B and I enjoyed deep snow, brilliant sunshine and chatting with friends this afternoon. I groomed Mara while she snacked and I even attempted to give her a bit of a snow bath. She is shedding so I was covered in white hair.
We played in the deep snow and basked in the sun light.
I also had a fun surprise from Jennifer who had found ‘Mara Mugs’ on her recent trip and was so dear to get a pair of them for Jay and me! Special, sweet and appreciated.
Mara, Jay and I are blessed with our wonderful Barn pals, who enrich our days.
We headed to the sand beaches and left Mara B behind in the snow. Before we left we brightened Mara’s day with a sunflower and lots of love.
Walking the beach today we came upon a different sort of ride.
This ride was being used by a group of guys fishing for shark (catch and release). A fun group of friends enjoying each other and the beautiful seashore. They engaged us warmly, we talked and learned about their fishing techniques and friendship. We left them with the one Benjamin coin I had in my pocket. A pleasant chance encounter.
Following are a few additional photos from our beach stroll home.
Missing Ms Mara but not the snow!
Below zero temps with brilliant sunshine for my Mara B visit this afternoon. I found Mara relaxing in a snow bed where she was pleasantly napping and I had to encourage her to stand up. She did enjoy a vigorous snow bath before returning to her feet.
Our inside the barn activities of grooming and nibbling on hay where enhanced with a close up of the new kids. Megan and Maddi both stopped in to check on them, so I was able to take this photo. Their growth has been amazing to watch, they are only three or four days old and are noticeably bigger and stronger every single day. Nanny goat is obviously doing a wonderful job as are the fabulous chore crew in assisting her.
Mara B and I also ventured out to inspect the snow drifts and there are plenty around to delight in!
Real winter temps, piles of snow, bright sunshine and sweet special animals to take pleasure in.
It was a very snowy visit with Mara B this morning. I didn’t even take her out of the paddock, we simply chatted and I gave her a treat.
I also visited the cute twins in the barn and even snapped a photo to share. Nanny Goat and kids were much more active today than yesterday.
The cute twins reminded me that I’m a twin! So I’m reposting an old photo of my twin David and me on the ponies we had one summer long ago.
All was beautifully white and serene at the stable when I departed.
It feels like all has been slowed down for the horses and humans alike these past few days.
